Tcaf was awesome! I got to meet Darwyn Cooke and he signed my copy of the Hunter! I told him that I was influenced by his colour palette for my zine and he asked me to bring it by! I’m still freaking out that Darwyn Cooke has a copy of my zine! After we went to the Stanley Kubrick showing of The Killing and Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke gave a talk and it was amazing. So much shade. He called Adam Hughes the king of perverts. After they had a signing outside the beguiling and I got my copy of coward and incognito signed! MAN I’m still jazzed!! WOOOOO
I’m going to be at TCAF! Want to read about the time a homeless woman jacked my coffee? Or the time my friend was approached by a man in a clown mask at 3am? My zine for graphic novel illustration is going to be available for sale at the OCAD table, Saturday at TCAF!
The OCAD U table will be in the Wowee Zonk Small Press Area on the first floor in the Browsery.
Barbara Gordon! She kicks all kinds of ass and takes no shit from anyone. I was watching the episode of Batman Beyond featuring her and Curare and got inspired. I’m thinking of doing a series of iconic feminist ladies from pop culture over the summer.
Now to finish my actual final painting assignment that’s due in 11 hours…
Final assignment for illustration 4! Book covers for Heart of Darkness and the Island of Dr. Moreau, respectively. We had an assigned colour palette and were restricted from using figures as the main focus.
Editorial illustration assignment for illustration 4. For an article called “In Womens Tears, a Chemical Cold Shower.” It’s about how the pheromones in womens tears prevents men from achieving arousal. I need to go back in and add some leaves around the top and tweak some things.
Project 1 for comics class. We had to do an autobiographical 4 panel comic in black and white, split between two pages. I’ve never done a comic before, so it was fun! Mine was of my day off. The only time I got out of bed was to feed the cat and it was glorious.
Final illustration for media studio! We had to choose from 7 assigned articles and animate a seamless looping illustration in photoshop. I did mine frame by frame because I hate myself and also I forgot how to do what I planned on doing using the other method we were shown. It actually took a lot less time than I anticipated.
I chose to do mine on the New York Times op-ed “Make Patent Trolls Pay in Court”.
